MUM'S THE WORD (THE SOPRANOS, SEASON ONE)

Not long ago, the website Screenrant published an article entitled ' 10 Harsh Realities Of Researching 'The Sopranos' 24 Years Later '. The article listed off things the author believed were troubling about David Chase's groundbreaking HBO gangster show. These included a "failure to address the uncomfortable age gaps in certain romantic relationships, including older men dating much younger women, which can be uncomfortable to watch." It cited the lack of remorse exhibited by James Gandolfini's Tony Soprano "when indirectly hurting children, such as ruining his son's life for his own benefit, highlighting his own lack of empathy and disturbing behaviour." © HBO There was also an observation that while none of the main characters were "bigoted towards other races as a whole, they primarily had problems with the notion of their Italian culture mixing with others. They had no problems using racial slurs and mocking other races." Th

And now for the second bite. Having given us a spoof BBC2 rockumentary in 2020 with ' The Kemps: All True ,' Rhys Thomas and Spandau Ballet's Martin and Gary Kemp are back parodying themselves and other celebrities. You recall big hair, baggy clothes, natty black and white suits, their appearances on ' Top of the Pops ' and at  Live Aid . Most of all you think of their two biggest hits, ' True ' and ' Gold ' - unless you're a Northern Ireland Troubles song masochist and adore the execrable ' Through The Barricades '. © BBC Outside of the lead singer Tony Hadley, the best known members of the band were brothers Gary and Martin Kemp, the lead guitarist and bassist. After appearing together as ' The Krays ' in Peter Medak's so so 1990 gangster movie about the infamous East End of London twins, the brothers continued to forge acting careers after the band broke up. Gary went to Hollywood and landed roles in the Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston smash hit ' The Bodyguard ,' on 'The Larry Sanders Show,' Roger
